As part of our ‘Stepping Through The Past’ collaboration with Ian Braisby, this is a chance to explore the Jewellery Quarter in all its festive glory!
From manufacturing history to great architecture, to literature links and street art, Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter has it all. Throw in the colourful festive lights, local businesses’ imaginative window trail, and plenty of great Christmas related facts and you have the perfect recipe for our Christmas tour. From Victorian traditions to the West Midlands’ contributions to our Christmas party playlists and much more, it’s a Jewellery Quarter discovery tour with a difference.
Follow this on with an exploration of Newman Brothers’ Christmas traditions with a tour of the Coffin Works’ museum all decked out for Christmas through the ages. See some of the Victorian machinery in action, learn how the highest quality handles, fixtures and fittings for coffins were made and what the factory did to celebrate the festive season, in this truly unique time capsule of a Jewellery Quarter manufactory.
