About this event

Back by popular demand
… resurrecting the voices of Newman Brothers for one night only.

At the Coffin Works, we always say it’s the people who made this place what it is. From our brilliant volunteers and curious visitors to the incredible workers who shaped the spirit of the Newman Brothers factory.

Last year, to celebrate 10 years of the Coffin Works Museum, we brought those voices back to life in a brand new, after-hours event like no other.

It’s back — and you’d be dead sorry to miss it.

Step inside the factory after dark and be reunited with unforgettable characters from Newman Brothers’ past in this immersive walking play, written, directed, and performed by our dedicated staff and volunteers. A fitting tribute during the Day of the Dead weekend to honour lives and stories remembered.

Meet Diamond Lil, electroplater and tea-leaf reader extraordinaire; experience the tensions of the 1894 strike; and hear from Joyce Green, who helped preserve the factory’s heart and turn it into the museum you see today.

This one-night-only event is your chance to walk through history, hear real stories, and celebrate a century of life, laughter, and legacy at the Coffin Works.

Saturday 1st November
6.30pm–7.30pm (Doors open at 6pm, close at 6.30pm sharp)
£20 per person, with a hot or cold drink included when doors open.

Tickets are limited and expected to sell fast!
