Gateway Object: Birmingham City Football Shroud

Shroud in dark blue and white with tassle

History

After the Second World War, Newman Brothers received an injection of young blood into the workforce. Among the new workers was John Kellett who began as a commercial traveller, but ended up becoming a director. He was responsible for introducing Aston Villa and Birmingham City shrouds to appeal to a new clientele. John Kellett himself was a big Aston Villa supporter, as was Joseph Doggart.
